When I was younger, I though I would never get a credit card because it was way too much responsibility. Then, my parents told me I could not do that because I needed to have credit in order to have anything in this world. As I grew older, I realized it was more true than I ever though it was. Credit is an extremely important part of our society and it runs everything. In fact, most of what is circulating around is not actual money, but it is in fact debt. The more I think about it, the more I get confused but there are just a few things I learned about credit cards that help me survive.

The most important thing I remember is credit card payment. It is so important to pay your credit card bills on time, and to know when the companies start charging you for the purchases. Every month you should do your best to pay you bill completely because if you do not you will simply collect more interest. This is exactly what makes these companies rich. They know that you will not be able to pay your bills in time. If you can not pay all of your bill, pay as much as you can and then spend less the next month so you can pay the full statement the next time. Keeping this is in mind is extremely important.

If you have more than one card, and even if you do not, you should check your monthly statements very carefully. It is very necessary to make sure that there are no problems on your statements and that nothing has been misprinted. If you do tell the company on time, they will most likely change the mistake but do not tell them after the payment has been made. Also, if you have multiple card it is good to transfer your balance onto the card with the least interest rate because you will end up paying less money. It is a smart thing for you to do, and it will help you in the long run.

The next thing also concerning interest rates on your cards. Though most companies will not want to tell you this, you can actually negotiate for a lower interest rate. Though getting interest free credit cards is very close to impossible you can lower your cost by telling you company you are going to cancel a card and join a competing company. It seems hard to get interest free credit cards, but there are many places you should look for advice because you never know what will happen unless you try.
